What Is a Seed Phrase & How to Protect It

A seed phrase is a set of words (usually 12 or 24) that grants full access to your wallet. Whoever has it controls your funds — so protecting it is the single most important step in crypto safety.

Basic rules

• Write it on paper and store it safely, ideally with a backup in a separate place.
• Never photograph it or store it on your phone, email, or cloud.
• Never share it with anyone — no legitimate support ever asks for it.

Scam signs

Any site or person asking for your seed phrase is a scam. Only ever enter it when restoring your wallet inside the official app itself.
